Why Visit Las VegasLas Vegas?
Las Vegas is a 4-mile strip of absurdity in the middle of the Mojave Desert. 150,000 hotel rooms, $10 billion in casino revenue, world-class restaurants, megashows, pool parties and the best people-watching in America. Vegas has reinvented itself from a gambling town into an entertainment capital — but gambling is still king. The Strip is fantasy; Downtown Fremont Street is the grittier old-school Vegas. Both are essential.
Stay on the Strip for your first visit. Mid-Strip (Bellagio, Caesars, Paris, Venetian) is the best location. The Strip is longer than it looks — use rideshare or the monorail, not your feet. Fremont Street downtown has cheap drinks, neon, and the original 1950s Vegas atmosphere.
⭐ Best time: March-May and September-November. Summer is 40C+ brutal heat. Winter is mild (15C) with cold nights. Avoid July 4th, NFL opening, March Madness for crowds.

Safety in Las VegasLas Vegas
✅ Vegas safety: The Strip and Downtown are heavily policed and very safe 24/7. Avoid walking through gaps between casinos at night. Standard big-city precautions apply.
Safest areas for visitors
- The Strip — Very safe 24/7. Police on every corner.
- Downtown Fremont — Very safe — family-friendly, well-lit.
- Walking between casinos (off-Strip) — Take rideshare at night — distances are deceptive.
- Off-Strip residential — No reason to visit most. If you leave tourist zones, do so by car.
🎰 Gambling tip: House always wins over time. Set a budget before you start. Play slots for entertainment, not profit. Learn basic blackjack strategy for the best odds.
